What Is Lagree?
Slow movement. A powerful challenge.
Created by Sebastien Lagree, Lagree is a high-intensity, low-impact workout focused on strength, muscular endurance, and core engagement. Slow, controlled movements and spring-based resistance keep your muscles working throughout each exercise.
Every movement has a purpose. Every detail makes a difference.
The 10 Principles of Lagree
Known as the “Magic 10,” these principles shape the method.
01. Effective Form
Proper body alignment and posture are maintained to keep the load on the target muscles and protect the joints.
02. Range of Motion
Full, controlled ranges of motion recruit more muscle fibers and maintain joint mobility.
03. Effective Tempo
Movements use a slow, steady, isokinetic pace (typically 4 to 16 counts) to eliminate momentum and keep muscles under constant tension.
04. Effective Duration
Each muscle group is kept under continuous contraction for a minimum of 60 seconds to build endurance and tap into energy reserves.
05. Effective Resistance
Variable spring loads and isometric holds are adjusted to challenge the muscles without compromising form.
06. Effective Incline
Utilizes purpose-built machine ramps and angles to add static resistance and change the intensity of gravity.
07. Effective Cueing
Precise instructor guidance ensures micro-adjustments in real time for safety and efficiency.
08. Effective Transition
Eliminating idle time between movements keeps the heart rate elevated and maintains training flow.
09. Effective Sequencing
Exercises are ordered strategically to pre-exhaust or properly fatigue muscle groups in a continuous flow.
10. Effective Planes of Motion
Integrating multi-planar movements engages core stabilizers and builds functional, full-body strength.
